Evolution is one of the most important unifying principles in biology and is foundational for understanding almost all aspects of biology. This course will explore: (1) the mechanisms of evolution; (2) the patterns of evolution that have produced the past and present diversity of life; and (3) special topics in evolution that are the subject of current research in the field.
